Not Just Grilled – Learn How to Make Kalbi Pasta

The Origin of LA Kalbi:

LA Kalbi was popularized by Korean immigrants in Los Angeles, who adapted traditional short rib recipes to suit the availability of meat cuts in the U.S. By slicing ribs across the bone and marinating them in a sweet-savory sauce, this version of Kalbi became a beloved dish in Korean BBQ worldwide.

Now, let’s take that rich flavor and make it into a delicious pasta meal!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of CJ Prime Marinated LA Kalbi
  • 200g of your favorite pasta (spaghetti, penne, or fettuccine)
  • 1/2 cup of pasta water (reserved from cooking)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley or green onion (optional for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the LA Kalbi:
In a large pot, cook the marinated LA Kalbi on medium heat. Allow it to simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until the meat is fully cooked and the sauce thickens slightly.

  2. Cook the Pasta:
In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions. Make sure to reserve about half a cup of the pasta water before draining.

  3. Combine and Simmer:
Add the cooked pasta to the pot with the LA Kalbi. Pour in the reserved pasta water and olive oil. Stir well and let it simmer together for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to coat the pasta.

  4. Serve:
Plate your Kalbi Pasta and garnish with fresh parsley or green onions for a touch of color and freshness. Enjoy the perfect fusion of Korean BBQ and Italian comfort!
