Korean-Style Spicy Pork Stir-Fry (제육볶음)

Looking for a quick, flavorful Korean meal that tastes like it came straight out of a home kitchen in Seoul?
This Spicy Pork Stir-Fry (Jeyuk Bokkeum) is inspired by the beloved Korean actor and chef Ryu Soo-young (a.k.a. “Unam Teacher”) — known for his simple yet delicious home-style recipes.

Using fresh, high-quality Pork Bulgogi from CJ Prime, this dish delivers the perfect balance of spicy, sweet, and savory flavors that define authentic Korean comfort food.

The result?
Perfectly seasoned, tender pork with a rich, spicy-sweet sauce that pairs beautifully with a bowl of warm rice.

Ingredients

Main

  • 1 pack (about 400g) CJ Prime Pork Bulgogi

  • ½ onion, sliced

  • ½ carrot, thinly sliced

  • ½ red bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 green onion, chopped

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

For the Marinade (Sauce)

  • 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)

  • 1 tbsp gochugaru (Korean red chili flakes)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp mirin (or cooking wine)

  • 1 tbsp minced garlic

  • ½ tbsp sesame oil

  • A pinch of black pepper

(Optional: 1 tsp honey for sweetness, ½ tsp grated ginger for depth)

Instructions

1. Prepare the sauce
In a mixing bowl, combine gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, sugar, mirin, garlic, sesame oil, and pepper. Mix well until smooth.

2. Marinate the pork
Add the CJ Prime Pork Bulgogi slices to the sauce and mix until the meat is evenly coated.
Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 1 hour in the fridge for richer flavor).

3. Stir-fry the pork
Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Add cooking oil, then stir-fry the marinated pork until it starts to brown and caramelize.

4. Add vegetables
Add onion, carrot, and bell pepper. Continue stir-frying until the vegetables soften slightly but stay crisp.

5. Finish and serve
Add chopped green onion and a drizzle of sesame oil before turning off the heat. Mix well and serve hot.

Serving Tips

  • Enjoy with steamed white rice and a fried egg on top for a complete meal.

  • Wrap the pork in lettuce leaves (ssam) with rice and ssamjang for an authentic Korean experience.

  • Leftovers taste even better the next day after the flavors settle.
